Tehran Wagon Manufacturing Company, in line with its professional duties in supplying metro fleet for metro lines network of metropolitans, is trying to achieve an operational solution for financing and supplying metro fleet for 4 metropolitans.
In the recent meeting of the members of Urban Train Companies union, which was held at the presence of the mayor and deputy of transport and traffic of the holy city of Mashhad, the issue and topics affecting the urban train companies of metropolitans were presented, Tehran Metro Company experience was one of the most important presentations in regard to the methods of supplying financial resources in metro projects.
Localization of metro fleet simultaneously with the development of underground railroad in metropolitans is the agenda of Tehran Wagon Manufacturing Company as the largest manufacturer of metro fleet in the country. In this regard, extensive planning was made to increase the share of localization and reduce dependence on the supply of the key systems of the metro train from foreign suppliers.
According to Article 54 of the Law of the Sixth Development Plan and through the contract concluded between the Vice President of Science and Technology and Tehran Municipality in 1998, designing and manufacturing processes of national metro trains were put in the agenda; the share of the manufacturing metro components by local companies was targeted at 85% in the project and it saves on mass production and reduces the cost of manufacturing metro cars.
